Flushability testing according demands of EDANA/INDA
New developed wipes for personal care are not necessarily flushable. If such non-flushable products are disposed via the wastewater system, it could lead to problems for homeowners and wastewater treatment operators.
One consequence is to develop flushable non woven consumer products which are compatible with existing wastewater conveyance, treatment, reuse and disposal systems.
In this context STFI finalized in cooperation with Kelheim Fibres a project to search for new fiber materials and nonwovens for personal care.
As an important result, at STFI had been installed selected testing methods according to EDANA/INDAs "Guidance Document for Assessing the Flushability of Nonwoven Consumer Products".
